Rainy Eid on the cards

LAHORE: Another round of widespread thundershowers is expected in Kashmir, upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during Eid days, says the Met Department.
According to its Tuesday`s advisory, widespread rain is expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions), Malakand, Mardan, Hazara,Kohat and Peshawar divisions from Friday to Tuesday.Scattered rain-thundershowers is forecast in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu divisions, Fata, northeastern Balochistan (Sibi, Zhob, Kalat, Nasirabad divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan from Saturday to Tuesday.
Isolated rain-thundershowers are also expected in Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas divisions) from Sunday to Tuesday.
The department said scattered heavy to very heavy falls were also expected in Kashmir, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore,Faisalabad, Sargodha, Peshawar, Kohat and Hazara divisions from Friday to Sunday.
The monsoon heavy falls might generate flash flooding in local streams, ravines and nullahs of KP and Punjab from Saturday to Tuesday. The Flood Forecasting Division expected isolated thunderstorm-rain over Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Malakand and Hazara divisions along with upper catchments of rivers Sutlej, Ravi, Chenab, Jhelum and Indus in the next 24 hours (Wednesday).
