Traffic plan for Abbottabad during Eid days

ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad district has been divided into four sectors each supervised by a DSP to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads during Eid days, DPO Sher Akbar Khan said.

He said extra police personnel had been provided to the traffic police for the purpose.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Akbar Khan said the four sectors consisted of areas from Muslim Abad to main bus stand, from main bus stand to Ayub Medical Complex, from AMC to Qalandar Abad and from the main road to Murree Road.

He said DSPs would be assisted by the SHOs of the respective police stations.

The police official said entry of heavy traffic into the district at Muslim Abad, Datta and Barian points would be banned from 10am to 10pm. He said plainclothes policemen would be deployed at all the picnic spots, especially Harno, Shimla Hill, and Ilyasi Masjid, to ensure safety of tourists on Eid days.

DPO Akbar Khan said all the hotels and guesthouses had been asked to maintain the complete record of visitors.Hesaidvehiclesleaving the district would be checked at exit points to curb car theft.

He said that National Highway Authority had been asked to repair the damaged portion of KKH road, especially at Sarban Chowk, which had been hampering smooth flow of traffic in the city.

DPO said traffic warden system in Abbottabad would be launched after Eid for which the district would be divided into five zones.

SECURITY GUARD KILLED: Security guard Nisar Ahmed deployed at the cash and carry store near Sethi Masjid shot dead his colleague, Maqbool Butt, after a brawl over a petty issue just before if tar on Monday.

Cantonment police arrested Nisar Ahmed and recovered pistol from him.

The body of Maqbool But, resident of Azad Kashmir, was handed over to family after autopsy.
