RAWALPINDI: A woman was shot dead in her house in Naseerabad area on Monday where she was living with her minor daughter after her divorce, police said.

The woman had a marriage of her choice and after the divorce she started living with her parents. Three months ago she shifted in a rented house in Siam area and started living with her daughter.

Izat Khan, father of the victim, told the police that his daughter had married Zaheer Khan against her parents` will but she returned to her parents` house after relations between the couple started spoiling.

He said in his complaint lodged with the police that some three months ago Kiran left her parents` house and started residing in a rented house where she was murdered.

Chaudhry Akhtar, police investigating officer told Dawn that it was yet to ascertain whether her ex-husband was involved in her murder or anybody else.

However, her body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
