DERA GHAZI KHAN: A National Accountability Bureau team on Sunday arrested a man who illegally got state land transferred in his name and sold plots to people allegedly in connivance with a revenue of ficial.
The team arrested suspect Habibullah Buzdar, owner of controversial Azmat Town which was developed on illegally allotted government land worth Rs140 million.
The NAB team, led by Assistant Director Faisal Manzoor, conducted a raidand arrested Habibullah Buzdar who illegally got allotment of 33 kanal state land under Reforms Act 1977 despite his ineligibility. After [illegal] allotment, Buzdar established Azmat Town on the land and sold out plots to people.
A NAB official told Dawn that around 60 people had filed complaints who were not granted possession of plots. He said Buzdar was not attending the inquiry despite various summons.
He said the suspect would be produced before an accountability court to seek his physical remand.
