Joan Smith in 2019 explored the roots of terrorism in misogyny and domestic abuse, establishing the connection between the two, and arguing that if police could address the problem of domestic abuse and acts of violence against women and children, many acts of terrorism committed in the name of religion and extreme ideology could be avoided. That being so, domestic violence is no longer a private matter. It is everyone`s problem. We need a functional framework to fight the scourge not only to protect women, but also as a deterrent against terrorism.
