WE are about 10 million Pakistanis working/living abroad always getting worried these days along with all our countrymen and women about Pakistan`s potential default on external account, like what happened in the case of Sri Lanka.
This situation might create unrest in our beloved country. We surely do not want any such trouble in our country.
I think what all of us overseas Pakistanis should immediately do is to remit $1,000 each to our Pakistani rupee accounts ortoaccountsofour dependents in Pakistan so thatthe country gets $10 billion worth of foreign exchange. This will also help alleviate pressure on the rupee and ease up inflation. To remit $1,000 is not a very big ask and it will help Pakistan a lot. We owe a lot to Pakistan.
