LONDON: Former PML-N lawmaker Hina Pervaiz Butt faced unsettling heekling on the streets of London on Monday, which was captured in videos that rapidly circulated on social media.

In one of the videos of the incident, Ms Butt and her son are seenatacurrencyexchangeshop, where multiple individuals could be heard calling her insulting names and levelling taunts at PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.

These individuals then trailedthe pair outside, with at least one carrying a PTI flag.

Additionally, in another video snippet, a man could be heard using profanities directed at Ms Butt.

The videos, particularly the one from the street, gained widespread circulation on social media, prompting condemnation from politicians and journalists, Dawn.com reported.

Former PTI member and former human rights minister Shireen Mazari `strongly condemned the vile abuse and assault` against Ms Butt.Ms Mazari referenced past instances where PML-N leader Khawaja Asif used derogatory language against women, asserting that no one should stoop to his level or that of those who stayed silent about his behaviour.

`While criticism can be accepted, mistreatment of women is always inexcusable,` she expressed on X (formerly Twitter).

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal also denounced the incident, alleging that the harassers were PTI supporters.

Mr Iqbal remarked: `This conduct by PTI followers is turninginto a cause for ridicule for the nation internationally.

He accused PTI chairman Imran Khan of cultivating `hatred` in the minds of his supporters.

In a similar incident last week, Judge Humayun Dilawar, who sentenced Imran Khan, was pursued during a judicial training course in Hull, allegedly by PTI supporters.

Similarly, PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb faced harassment in a L ondon shop by individuals wearing PTI colours last September.
