LOWERDIR:Jamaat-i-Islamichief Sirajul Haq on Wednesday warned that a human tragedy could occur if the government and aid agencies failed to rehabilitate the homeless people before the winter season.
Addressing local people during his visit to the flood-af fected areas of Kumrat, Thal, Kohistan and Sheringal in Upper Dir here on Wednesday, he said the nation was facing the ravages of floods and the major political parties were playing power politics.
Mr Haq was accompanied by MPA Inayatullah Khan, Alkhidmat Foundation district president Hafeezullah Khaksar and party`s district chief Izazul Mulk.
The AKF leader briefed the JI chief about its relief and rehabilitation activities in the area. Mr Haq said it was high time for the nation to unite and help out the affected people. He said winter was fast approaching in the area, but majority of the population was still homeless.
