BDS student`s torture case Judicial remand of woman extended

TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad Judicial Magistrate Bushra Anwaar issued another 12-day judicial remand of one of the accused of BDS student`s kidnap and torture case on Wednesday.

She was brought from the district jail after completing her 14-day remand by the Faisalabad women police.

In the FIR, she was mentioned as a maid of the main accused and also his accomplice, but she told the court that she was the second wife of the main accused.

ARRESTED: The Samundri city police arrested on Wednesday one of the three gangrape accused and recovered the car in which the woman was kidnapped.

According to the Faisalabad police, an FIR was registered on Aug 19 by the Samundri city police in which the complainant, of Chak 220-RB, claimed that his wife was lured by the arrested accused and his two accomplices to provide her job and they had called her to Samundri.

When she was at the Samundri general bus stand, the accused took her to an undisclosed location where theyforced her to drinkliquor and later they gangraped her. When she fell out, they dropped her near the Salooni canal bridge.

The police were conducting raids to arrest two other accomplices of the arrested accused.

DROWNS: A man drowne d in the main sewerage drain at Faisalabad on Wednesday near Satiana Road.

Rescue 1122 said witnesses said Muhammad Adeel, 25, of Dudhiwala, was standing near the drain when he slipped into it and drowned. His body was fished out by rescuers.

Rescue divers rescued a woman from the Rakh branch canalnear Ihsan Yousaf textile mills.

Parveen Bibi, 60, of Chak 225-RB, said she was pushe d into the canal by unidentified persons.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died and his pillion rider was wounded when an oil tanker ran them over on Wednesday near Roshanwala bypass on Faisalabad-Samundri Road.

The deceased was identified as Naseer Ahmad, of Tandlianwala, while the injured companion is his nephew, Wasim Akram, who was shifted to the DHQ hospital.
