SUKKUR: Two siblings, aged five and six years, were shot dead and their parents wounded when they were waylaid by armed men hiding behind the roadside bush near Thull town of Jacobabad district on Wednesday.

Relatives of the family told police that the couple had a land dispute with some people belonging to their own community, Khosos, for some time.

Darya Khan Khoso, along with his wife, Shahzadi Khoso, and their two children, had left their home in Dur Mohammed Khoso village on Wednesday and were heading to Thull town on a motorcycle when armed men opened fire on the two-wheeler near the Khan Laro turning. All family members received gunshot wounds.

Officials at the Bahoo Khoso police station said the two siblings, Shazia, 6, and Jameel, 5, died on the spot. The victims were taken to the Thull Taluka Hospital, where the couple was admitted for treatment and a post-mortem examination of the children was performed.

The police said an FIR was yet to be registered.
