PESHAWAR: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said here on Monday that there were immense opportunities for young women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fields of fashion design and fine arts.

He was addressing as chief guest `thesis display exhibition` organised by fine arts department of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University at Governor`s House. The event was meant to promote creative talents of young women and showcase their artworks and designs.

The exhibition featured a variety of creations by fine arts students including vibrant paintings, sculptures, modern fashion garments and unique designs.

The governor praised students for their works, highlighting their expertise and potential as future great artists and designers. He said that the exhibition provided a platform to highlight the creative skills of students.

`There is a need for further development of arts and fashion industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the government will provide all possible support in this regard,` he said. He emphasised the role of educational institutions in fostering student talents through such activities.

The event was also attended by Prof Safia Ahmed, the vice-chancellor of the university, Anila Muddasir, the head of finearts department, faculty members, students and other dignitaries.

Guests at the exhibition expressed admiration for the students` works and stressed the need for holding more such events in the province to provide opportunities to youth in the fields of arts and fashion design.

Meanwhile, the governor alsoinaugurated passport and Nadra offices in provincial assembly.

The event was attended by Speaker Babar Salim Swati, Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi, leader of opposition Dr Ibadullah, PPP parliamentary leader Ahmad Karim Kundi, the director general of passport, Mustafa Kamal Q azi, and the director of Nadra, Khalid Inayatullah, along with other assembly members and secretariat staff.

It was the first visit of Kundi to provincial assembly as governor during which he also reviewed the assembly hall and jirga hall. He expressed gratitude to federal interior minister for his supportto the project.

He said that the demands of Pashtun jirga would be taken seriously and all political parties would collaboratively address constitutional demands within the framework of Constitution.

He lamented that despite the 1991 agreement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not provided with its due share in water. APP
