Bhutto, yesterdaywarnedthelndianGovernment that if it continued with its plan to integrate the State of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union, India would itself disintegrate. He said it would be much better for the Indian Government to feed its own people rather than waste its energy on committing aggression against its neighbours. He advised India to integrate areas which belonged to it before seeking to annex colonies on the principle of metropolitan empire.
Kashmir did not belong to India, he stressed.
Addressing a Press conference in Karachi, Mr Bhutto pointed out that the whole history of Jammu and Kashmir State was a catalogue of India`s mistakes. He said India would not gain by these mistalces though on the surface it might appear so. In fact, India was suffering because of these mistakes. He said there were four objective facts in this regard: 1. The opposition of the people of Kashmir to India`s occupation; 2. Pakistan`s resentment against India`s occupation of Kashmir; 3. India`s unnecessarily chauvinistic confrontation with China; and 4. The complete demoralisation that has spread throughout India on various fronts, particularly on the economic front.-Special Representative
