SWABI: The district police officer has sent two police officials on forced retirement after separate inquiries proved them guilty of corruption, official sources told Dawn here on Friday.
They said that the officials included sub-inspector Gulhar Shah, and assistance sub-inspector Rafiuzaman. The sources said that Gulhar Shah had two decades ofservice underhis belt.The sources said that DPO Sajjad Khan had warned police officials to avoid indulging in illegal practices otherwise they would face the axe.
`We will never tolerate corrupt practices of any police official, said the source while quoting the DPO.
JUI PROTEST: Activists of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F on Friday staged a protest demonstration against the government`s failure to initiate inquiry against the sul-cide attack on the party chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
JUI-F district chief Maulana Attaul Haq Darvesh and former provincial education minister Maulana Fazal Ali led the protesters.
The workers marched from the main office of the party to Karnal Sher Khan chowk where the party leaders assailed the government for adopting delaying tactics in launching probe into the suicide attack.The protesting workers were holding placards inscribed with different slogans against the government.
Fazal Ali said that further delay in ordering a probe into the Quetta bombing wouldn`t be acceptable.
Mr Haq said that it was the government`s responsibility to provide security to the party leaders and added that if Mr Rehman was harmed the government would be responsible for that.
