2016-11-15
MINGORA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf general secretary Jahangir Khan Tareen has said that PML-N and PPP represent only Punjab and Sindh provinces of the country respectively.

Addressing a workers convention at Wadudia Hall here on Monday, he said that PTl was the only major political party, which represented every walk of life in the country.

The PTl workers, who actively participated in the party`s lockdown of Islamabad, attended the convention.

Mr Tareen said that PML-N represented only Punjab province and PPP represented Sindh province. `Presently, PTl is the only party, which has representation of the entire country,` he claimed. He said that the PTl youth from Swat showed great enthusiasm in every big event of the party and their presence in Islamabad was a great support in the lockdown of the capital.

`The youth stood by Imran Khan through every thick and thin for which the party is thankful to them,` said Mr Tareen. He said that PTl central leadership had decided to stage a sit-in for a long time to compel Nawaz Sharif to step down.

He said that government resorted to brutality and baton charged the peaceful PTl supporters that forced the party`s central leadership to review its decision of staging a sit-in for a longer time as it wanted to avoid conflict and bloodshed.

The PTl leader said that federal government was responsible for deteriorating the situation as it harassed peaceful workers coming to Bani Gala.

`We had formed about 20 squads of about 100 workers to provide a safe exit to Imran Khan from Bani Gala,` he said, adding that the idea was also dropped as party`s leadership didn`t want confrontation.

Mr Tareen said that PTI-led provincial government was keen to deliver. `Despite limited resources the provincial government is showing good performance in education and health sectors as compared to other provinces,` he claimed. The convention was also addressed by PTl lawmakers belonging to Swat.-Correspondent
