LAHORE: Despite so-called Islamic State militant outfit (also known as Daesh) claiming responsibility for carrying out the recent blast in Shah Noorani shrine in Balochistan, killing more than 50 people, the rulers, for their selfish motives, are keeping their eyes shuttothepresenceofthe dreaded organisation in the country.
Tahirul Qadri, the chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), said this on Monday while address-ing his party workers on telephone.
The rulers` preferences are eating into social and security fabrics of the country; this is criminal, to say the least, he says.
He says the National Action Plan (NAP) is on the shelf for too long, with most of its components rotting because of the rulers`links to those against whom the plan is designed.
`So, they (the rulers) are the biggest hurdle in the way of the plan, headds Qadri reiterates his demand for formation of a commission, consisting of representatives of InterServices Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and other agencies, to investigate into what he calls failure of the NAP and apportion the blame for it, which is costing human lives almost on a daily basis.
`Extremism cannot be dealt (with) through barrel of gun alone; it needs deep-rooted change (improvement in education system, social attitudes and governance) and only the government can bring them about,` he said and insisted: `Had the PML-N been perusing this (reform) agenda, theNAP could have rooted the menace outtoalarge extent.Buttherulers are not allowing honest implementation (of NAP) to serve their own political ends.
He says the PAT, despite all its reservations, supported the NAP because of national interest, but the present rulers have ruined it all.
`Their (rulers) crimes are countless, including disallowing Rangers` operation in Punjab, compromising national security and letting Indians in without due process. All this needs an investigation by a commission,` he says.
