I WOULD like to express my dismay over a television commercial running these days for the promotion of a car battery wherein our entire nation has been very negatively labelled as `Dhakka start,` meaning we all lack initiative, which is not true.

We are a nation of 210m hardworking , honest and intelligent people having an urge to progress, and we have made commendable achievements. We have made our country a nuclear power, which has produced world-known scientists, educationists, bankers, businessmen, doctors , engineers, economists, philanthropists , politicians , poets and sportsmen. Our millions of hardworking and capable people are working abroad ininternational market who send billions of dollars to Pakistan.

I believe we should be proud of our nation. In view of the foregoing I think the above-mentioned battery commercial should be appropriately edited immediately as it gives a very harmful message, especially to our new generation .
