KARACHI: Umar Amin smashed his 34th firstclass century to help the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) take command against Pakistan Television (PTV) on the second day of their match of the President`s Trophy Grade-I tournament at the SBP Sports Complex in Karachi on Wednesday.

Umar scored 101 off 137 balls with the help of 13 fours and two sixes as the SBP, who started their innings from their overnight score of 136-1, posted 414-9 declared. The big total give the SBP a massive 321-run lead over PTV who were sent packing for 93 in their first innings.

SBP`s Fawad Alam, who contributed with a 99-ball 61 with the help of five fours, completed 15,000 runs in first-class cricket during his innings.

Opener Imran Butt (78, 151 balls, eight fours) was the other major contributor in the SBP total.

PTV`s Mehran Sanwal returned figures of 5-103.

PTV in their second innings were 52-0 at stumps, still trailing by 269 runs.

At the HPC Oval Ground, Umar Siddig smashed 127 with the help of 19 fours to steer Eshaal Associates to 293 all out after they had slipped to 149-6 in reply to Ghani Glass` 379 all out.

For Ghani Glass, Afaq Afridi, Mir Hamza and Mohammad Rameez Jr picked up three wickets each.

Ghani Glass, who will resume their second innings on day three from 5-0, are 91 runs ahead.

Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) were bundled out for 183 after they began the second day from the overnight score of 99-4 against the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the NBP Sports Complex.

Saad Baig`s (66 off 98 balls, 10 fours) maiden first-class half-century and opener Naseerullah Khan`s 61 helped KRL to take a 46-run firstinnings lead.

HEC pacer Mohammad Azab picked 5-59, his second five-wicket haul in first-class games.

HEC ended the day at 208-5 in their second innings to take a 162-run lead thanks to an unbeaten half-century from Obaid Shahid (64).

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) totalled 198 in their first innings to take a one-run lead over the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) at the UBL Sports Complex.

After resuming their innings at the overnight score of 61-2, SNGPL lost eight wickets for 137 runs despite Shahzaib Khan`s half-century (76).

In their second innings, OGDCL crumbled to 91-5 at the close of play.-Agencies
