Blast injures caretaker of Imambargah

PESHAWAR: The caretaker of an Imambargah in Kochi Bazaar was injured in a blast here on Saturday morning.
The blast also damaged the building of the Imambargah.
The bomb disposal unit thoroughly checked the site but could not find any sign or even smell of explosives, an official said. He said that the blast might be result of gas leakage.
Syed Agha, the injured caretaker, was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. He was stated to be in stable condition.
Another source claimed that terrorists lobbed a hand grenade at the Imambargah but it could not reach the target and fell near the building. However, police rejected the claim.
In another incident, firebroke out in a godown of auto spare-parts at Fawara Chowk, Saddar Bazaar.
A worker of Rescue 1122 said that cause of the fire was gas leakage. `A worker, who did not know about the gas leakage, switched on a burner and the room caught fire.
However, the people escaped unhurt,` he Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested three people involved in extortions and carlifting.
They said that the accused were identified as Azizur Rehman, Abdullah and Mohammad Nazeer. They were taken into custody during raid on different houses, police said.
Similarly, two alleged car snatchers were also arrested and a motorcar was recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as Mohammad Waheed and Imran, police said.
