THE step of awarding supervisory licence certificate is quite admirable by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) that could pave the way for better career of countless unemployed engineers.
However, it was sad to see that when I applied for a supervisory licence bearing PEC No.9103, I had pinned much hope because it was for the very first time that 5,000 vacancies were announced through an advertisement in the newspaper, but I found my name nowhere throughout the list in civil engineering discipline. When I went through list uploaded at the PEC official website, I found mostly the candidates have been recruited from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan whereas merely a few candidates from Sindh were recruited.
I request the authorities concerned, as well as the Pakistan Engeneering Council chairman, to look into the matter and allow the supervisory licence certificates without any discrimination.
