SINCE its inception Pakistan has been striving hard to convince the international community that the Kashmiri people must be given the right to self-determination.
The Security Council had passed several resolutions for holding a plebiscite inKashmir. But stubborn India is not ready to abide by these resolutions. Pakistani governments tried to resolve the issue through dialogue but somehow it was never resolved owing to one reason or the other.
We spent a lot of energy and efforts on this issue. It can only be resolved through one way that is rightly suggested by our prime minister also. It is the `economic stability` of Pakistan.
If we are economically strong, our stance would be bought on all forums. A good example is that of China. The economic power of China achieved Hong Kong without so much pain, rather it was bestowed upon it as a gift because of its economic progress. Many other instances are there to follow.
If we are an economic power, all will support our stance. So we must focus our energy on this aspect and the Kashmir issue will be resolved automatically.
