RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has procured four new dumpers worth Rs23.6 million for solid waste collection in the cantonment areas. A senior official of the RCB told Dawn that the new machinery and vehicles would improve the sanitation condition of the cantonment areas.

He said the new vehicles would collect 6 to 8 tons of the solid waste and transport it to dumping ground at Chakri Road. He said that the solid waste immediately dumped in the ground to avoid biological degradation in the areas. The official said with the arrival of new vehicles, the sanitation department would lift the garbage twice a day. A Reporter
