9,460 locations secured by shifting power lines: Iesco

I S L A M A B A D : Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has said it has secured 9,460 points by shifting electricity wires to safer locations.

Iesco Chief Executive Muhammad Naeem Jan said that since January 2019, a campaign has been in progress to shift electricity wires to safer locations deemed too close to homes and other settlements.

He added that Iesco field formations and customers reported 10,948 such points that could pose a risk to human life and property.

`By taking timely action, Iesco teams secured 9,460 points by shifting electricity wires to saferlocations.

All the expenditure amounting to Rs1.83 billion was borne by the power utility,` he said.

Muhammad Naeem Jan has requested that consumers avoid constructions near or under electricalinstallations.

`If there are power lines passing near the houses in your surroundings, report it immediately to the officials concerned,` he said.
