EuroVillage offers cultural exchange through food, music

ISLAMABAD: Scores of participants gathered at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on Saturday to enjoy the vibrant `EuroVillage` festival in the federal capital and celebrate the European Union (EU)Pakistan friendship.
Organised by the EU mission in Pakistan in collaboration with the EU member states, the event offered a cultural exchange through music, food and interactive experiences.
Welcoming the attendees, EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Riina Kionka, highlighted the importance of cultural diversity and shared values in strengthening ties between the EU and Pakistan.
`We celebrate the diverse cultures and identities that enrich Europe, forming the foundation of our shared values and our relations with the world, including Pakistan.
Together, we are stronger and our partnership in development, trade and political engagement reflects this com-mitment,` she stated.
A statement issued by the EU said that now in its sixth edition, EuroVillage provided an immersive experience featuring live performances, engaging activities and a vari-ety of European cuisines.
Information booths showcased EU-Pakistan collaboration, while development cooperation stalls highlighted initiatives benefiting local communities.Attendees heard firsthand from beneficiaries about the positive impact of EU-funded projects on their lives.
A major attraction of the event was the musical lineup, which featured performancesby both European and Pakistani artists, including popular singer Farhan Saeed.
The festival was co-organised by EU diplomatic missions alongside those of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria,Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Spain.
`The EuroVillage 2025 fes-tival reaffirmed the strong partnership between Europe and Pakistan, underscoring a shared commitment to cooperation and development under the theme Stronger Together,` read the statement.
