SOUTH WAZlRISTAN: A cop was martyred when militants attacked the Shakai police station in South Waziristan on Saturday night, a senior official said.

District police officer Asif Bahader said around 40 militants stormed the police station.

He, however, said the attack was retaliated, forcing the attackers to flee.

Mr Bahader said that the militants used heavy and automatic weapons during the attack, adding that a constable, Sadiq Wazir embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire.
