APROPOS the two letters appearing on the above topic on Feb 28 and March 3. I am middle-aged and have three children. I was particularly saddened on reading the letter by the son who lived abroad. I started wondering about how I would feel if my son would want me to live at an old-age home.
Probably grief and despair would be my constant companions at the thought that my son is a citizen of another country and is not living with me because he`s more interested in making money.
Elderly people in our country also feel the need for more old-age homes which I feel is more a Western phenomenon.
Being a mother when I get to that age -I want to live with my children and enjoy this phase of their lives when they are adults and parents. I`m sure that they would also want me to be in their lives. Last but not least they should work for Pakistan, which has given all of us so much.
