LAHORE: The Supreme Court has been urged to bring the former ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani, back to Pakistan through Interpol and make him join Memogate proceedings.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan of the Watan Party made this request through a civil miscellaneous application filed in a pending petition on the issue.
The barrister states the apex court had given a onetime permission to Mr Haqqani to visit the US, ordering him to return to the country within four days.
However, he says, Mr Haqqani never came back since his departure in 2012.
The petitioner pleads that Interpol be approached to bring back Mr Haqqani who has been held guilty and responsible for leaking national secrets to foreign countries like the US.
The application has been filed at Lahore registry of SC. — Staff Reporter
