QUETTA: Senior lawyer Rauf Ata has been appointed Advocate General for Balochistan with immediate effect, said a notification issued on Thursday.

Mr Ata will replace Amanullah Kanrani who tendered his resignation to the Balochistan governor two days ago.

Mr Ata has taken over as the new advocate general and started his work. He belongs to JUI-F. Mr Kanrani had resigned to launch his election campaign for contesting the office of president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
