APROPOS a story published in Dawn on March 5 titled `Convicted security guard loots 40 bank lockers in Gulshan`, the SSP East was quoted as saying that the guard was `rehired by a private firm, Askari Guards.

However, retired Brig Adnan Azim, chief executive officer of Askari Guards has stated that `this is totally wrong. Askari Bank is not our client, and no guard from Askari Guards is posted at any Askari Bank branch.
