RAWALPINDI: The International Women`s Day was celebrated by the divisional office of the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women at the Government Associate College for Women, Dhoke Hassu.

Teachers and students were sensitised on the issues of women and initiatives of the government of Punjab.

The faculty of the college appreciated the efforts of the provincial government in making an environment where women can play their role in nation building free from all kinds of discrimination and violence.

Commission`s Rawalpindi division coordinator Qaiser Mahmood Rana spoke on the role and mandate of the commission and briefed the participants about pro-women laws and the initiatives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to empower and protect women from all forms of gender-based violence. Staff Reporter
