WHILE we apparently face shortage of teachers in Sindh`s public educational institutions, even simple things have been made dif ficult when it comes to recruitment of teachers. The provincial education department had announced vacancies for the posts of primary school teachers and junior elementary school teachers, for which it received online applications.
Those who wanted to apply, however, faced several problems. After submitting the personal and academic information, the online system asked candidates for scanned copies of their educational documents not larger than 1MB in size.
It really was baf fling and troublesome for the applicants as they could not figure out how they could resize the digital files.
Besides, the fee collected by the testing service as processingchargesforthe applications was exorbitant compared to the fee that the Federal Public Service Commission collects for the posts of grade 16 and 17 job applications.
The authorities should ensure that the registration process is made easier for future recruitment, and the fee is reduced so that the poor may also get a fair chance.
