2023-04-16
LAHORE: An attempt on the life of the creator of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, as conceived by Master Tara Singh, was to mark the climax of the war of extermination planned against the Muslims by the Sikhs according to a pamphlet entitled `The Sikh Plan` published by the West Punjab Government. `The Sikh Plan` which envisaged Sikh sovereignty over the whole of Punjab `had for its immediate objective an extensive sabotage and destruction of Muslim life and property and the elimination if possible of Muslims from the Sikh belt along the eastern border of the West Punjab`. The central figures of the conspiracy, the publication says, were Master Tara Singh, Giani Kartar Singh and Sardar Udham Singh Najoke.

The main lines of the preparation were (a) the collection offunds;(b)the collection and manufacture and import of arms; (c) widespread and large scale enlistment of Sikhs in private armies such as the Akali Fauj and the Shahidi Jathas; and (d) the development of a well-knit organisation capable of murderous actions accordingto a centralised plan.
