Two killed as groups clash

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two persons, including a minor boy, were killed and as many others injured critically in a crossfire between two groups over a dispute of state land possession in Jhang`s Qadirpur police station area, Chak Agilpur, on Saturday.
According to reports, the state land was in possession of the attacker party for the last five decades. This year the other group cultivated wheat on this land. When the men of this group were harvesting the crop, the opponents opened fire on them which was retaliated.
In the crossfire, Ramzan, 13, and Sooba Khan, 25, were killed while Akram, 35, and Ishaq Khan, 45, sustained injuries and were shifted to Jhang DHQ Hospital.
Jhang Saddar Circle DSP Muhammad Aslam Khan claimed that three of the accused had been arrested and raids were being conducted to arrest the others.
ARRESTED: The killers of an eighth class student whose body was found in a washroom of the Government High School, Machiwal, Jhang, onFriday have been traced.
A Jhang district police press release, issued on Saturday, said a year ago student Usman`s father Gulsher had shot at and injured Farhan over a property dispute. To take a revenge, Farhan and his father Iqbal strangled Usman and dumped his bodyin school`s washroom.
The press release said the police succeeded to trace the killers through geofencing.
Kot Shakir police have arrested Iqbal and conducting raids to arrest Farhan.
MURDERED: A man was murdered allegedly by his cousin over a property dispute at Kamalia in Saddar police station area, Chak Mauza Bhoot Kalia, on Saturday.
Police said Azhar Irshad was on way to his farmland when his cousin, Usman Haroon, opened fire on him. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Kamalia THQ Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have arrested the accused.
TRAIN STOPPAGE: FederalRailwaysMinister Khwaja Saad Rafique has directed the railway authorities to approve a brief stoppage of 41-Up and 42-Down KarakoramExpress at Toba Tek Singh.
PML-N MNA and special assistant to Prime Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry told reporters on Saturday that he had requested the minister in this regard as the Toba passengers had no trainfacilitytotraveltoLahore.
He said a notification had also been issued by the railways chief operating officer under which the train would stop for three minutes at Toba Tek Singh on a trial basis for a period of three months.
