ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Tuesday averted an attack on an international food outlet and arrested five suspects, police said.
A group of over 15 people gathered outside the outlet located in E-11 and staged a protest. Some of them also entered the outlet and threatened customers and staff with dire consequences. They asked the customers to vacate the outlet and told the staff to shutdown the operations.
After getting information about the law and order situation and the attack at the food outlet, the police reached the spot. On seeing the police the attackers escaped from the spot, however, the police succeeded to arrest five of them.
The arrested persons were later shifted to a police station for further legal action.
It may be recalled that the international food outlets have come under multiple attacks in various parts of the country. — Staff Reporter
