`Psychological treatment for special children`

R A W A L P I N D I : Speakers at a workshop stressed the need for psychological treatment of special children so that they could become a useful citizen of the country.

The two-day workshop was organised for psychologists working at Institutions of Special Education Department Rawalpindi Division at Government Girls High School for Blind Girls Rawalpindi on Monday.

Divisional Special Education Officer Rawalpindi Fozia Khursheed highlighted the importance of interactive sessions for psychologists which would help in capacity building and benefitting with each other experiences.

She said special education institutions were rendering great services to enable special children to become useful citizens of society.

She said the government had provided a package of incentives and facilities to blind girls to acquire education and skill training which would help them to find appropriate jobs in the practical life.

Deputy Director Special Education Provincial Headquarters Rana Khalid Mehmud said special persons deserved our assistance and support.

In this connection special education department had set up various training institutes in the province where thousands of special boys and girls were acquiring education and training in different skills, he added.

Government High School for Blind Girls Principal Mrs Wasim Sanaullah said that it was need of the hour we should supplement the efforts for making blind girl students capable of learning different skills.

Psychologists Shahida Perveen, Sonia Aftab, Saima Nosheen, Mrs.

Munazza Khalid, Mrs.

Saadia Waheed, Irfan Ahmed, Mrs Samra Zubair Lodhi and Ismat Haider presented their papers on various topics relating to psychological behaviour and training of specialstudents.
