Sherpao flays govt for failing to end energy crisis

BATTAGRAM: Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has criticised the federal government for what he calls its failure to end energy crisis in the country.
Addressing a public meeting in Allai, he said that government was mal(ing tall claims to control energy crisis but it failed to fulfil its commitment.
He demanded establishment of economic zones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and replacement of the faulty distribution and transmission electricity lines in the province.
On the occasion, several local elders including Sarfaraz Khan,Aurangzeb Mian and Shamsur Rehman along with their supporters announced to join QWP.
Mr Sherpao said that government was ignoring important national issues. He said that government should address the issues of ties between Pakistan and Iran and sense of deprivation among the federating unites.
The QWP chief also showed concerns over tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying it was not in the interests of either country.
He said that all issues between the two neighbouring countries should be resolved through diplomatic means.
Mr Sherpao said that only merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could resolve problems of tribal people.
He said that merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would help to strengthen the unity of Pakhtuns.
The QWP chief said that federal government was not handingover financial resources to smaller federating units that caused miseries to people. He said that federal government was not taking interest in resolution of the problems of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr Sherpao said that central government should give due share to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the benefits of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
He said that people were protesting power loadshedding across the country.
The QWP chief said that Pakhtuns being the second largest population of the country rendered numerous sacrifices for their homeland. He said that the sacrifices of Pakhtuns were ignored. He said that QWP was struggling for the rights of Pakhtuns.
QWP provincial chairman and Provincial Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan also addressed the public meeting. He said that QWP would sweep thenext general elections because it was the representative party of Pakhtuns in the province.
He congratulated the newentrants in QWP and asked them to work hard for the progress and development of people as it was the manifesto of the party.
