ISLAMABAD: Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffari was elected as chairman of Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday.According to a statement, central officials, those from provincial chapters and representatives from district chapters voted in the electoral process. Allama Raja Nasir received the highest number of votes in the election during MWM`s convention in thefederal capital.

Earlier, Shoora Ali of the MWM had shortlisted three candidates for the election. Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi and Allama Syed Baqir Zaidi were two other candidates for the top post.
