Dr Mirza denies reports about reconciliation with Zardari

BADIN/MITHI: Former home minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza has denied the reports regarding his efforts for reconciliation with Asif Ali Zardari. Talking to local reporters on Wednesday in Badin, Dr Mirza said it was impossible for him to rejoin what he called the corrupt and anti-state people like Mr Zardari and his cronies.

He said he had not so far made any decision about joining any political party. He said the mandate given to him by the people of Badinwas stolen in towns and union councils by the PPP leaders by using different ugly tactics.

Dr Mirza observed that the PPP chairman was making some good and mature decisions like his slain mother and grandfather. `I hope that Bilawal will not follow in the footsteps of his father,` he added.

He again claimed that the lives of his family members were under serious threats. ` If anything happens to me or my family members, Mr Zardari and all those sitting in the Sindh government will be held responsible.` Dr Mirza alleged that Ms Faryal Talpur was responsiblefor water crises in Badin and other areas of Sindh. ` Most of the water channels have been diverted to the lands of Ms Talpur,` he said Estranged PPP councillors Talking to Dawn on Wednesday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Dr Mehesh Kumar Malani said that all the estranged councillors and PPPleaders had agreed to obey the directions and decisions of the PPP leaders to withdraw their resignations and accept the decision of the party.

Dr Malani said Dr Ghulam HaiderSamejo and Mr Karni Singh were now the consensus candidates of the party. He claimed that there was no difference over nomination of the district chairmen and town committees of the district.

He also claimed that the estranged party MPA from Thar, Dr Khatto Mal Jeevan, had also accepted the party decision after his close aide was nominated for the slot of chairman in the town committee of Chelhar.

He noted that the Sindh government was making all out efforts to develop Thar as the modern district of Thar.
