TAXILA: The Taxila Police on Wednesday booked nine persons and arrested six of them for violating the ban imposed by the Supreme Court () on blasting and quarrying at Margalla Hills.
SHO inspector Ghulam Asghar told reporters that that they came to know that an influential stone crusher was quarrying stone crush at his plant located in Ban Bhola area in Thatta Khalil Union council. A police team raided his plant and arrested six persons, Riaz Ahmed, Abdul Qadir, Yahya Khan, Mohammad Basheer, Rab Nawaz and Sajid Hussain.
He said that the stone crusher plant owner and his two sons managed to flee. He said a case had been registered against the accused under section 379 CrPc and 114 of Mines Act.
He said that the ban imposed by the apex court would be implemented in true spirit and no one would be allowed to carry out blasting and quarrying at Margalla Hills.
