MANSEHRA: The Jamiat Ulema-Islam-F on Saturday alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was spreading false propaganda against its ideology and central leadership.

`The electoral defeat of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the victory of Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf nominee Shahzada Gustasab Khan in the NA-15 constituency is the result of our political strategy,` JUI-F leader MuftiKifayatullahtold reporters here.

Accompanied by other JUI-F leaders, Mr Kifayatullah said he had contested the Feb 8 elections in NA-15 on the orders of his party chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, against Nawaz Sharif.

`Maulana Fazlur Rehman fielded me in the election to defeat Nawaz Sharif and I followed his orders in letter and spirit,` he insisted, Mr Kifayatullah said his party`s ideology was completely different than the PML-N`s.

`We are committed to the cause of sharia in the country through a peaceful political struggle,` he said.

The JUI-F leader said the PML-N was using retired Captain Mohammad Safdar, the son-in-law of Nawaz Sharif, to challenge his party`s ideologyand mission to avenge the former premier`s defeat in NA-15 polls.

`The PML-N has never remained popular in the NA-15 constituency stretched over to the rural parts of Mansehra and neighbouring Torghar district and it was me who secured over 53,000 votes in the general elections held in 2018,` Mr Kifayatullah said.

The JUI-F leader said that Mr Safdar couldn`t suffer his fatherin-law`s defeat in the elections and instead searching for reasons behind Mr Sharif`s failure, he was involved in his and his leadership`s character assassination.

`Our party has been waging a political war against the largest poll rigging in the country`s history, which paved the way for the installation of the PML-N government in the centre,` he said.HOUSE FIRE: A fire gutted a house in the Ghazikot area here on Friday night.

The fire, which was caused by electrical short circuiting, trapped the family inside.

The neighbours rescued them and shifted them to safety.

The fire destroyed household goods, cash and documents.

The Rescue 1122 workers extinguished the fire with the help of fire tenders after over an hour of its outbreak.

House owner Faisal said all household goods and valuables were reduced to ashes as the Rescue 1122 team couldn`t respond promptly and reached his house late.

He said his family members were rescued by neighbours before the fire could rip through the entire building.
