LAKKI MARWAT: Bannu Medical College chief executive officer Prof Dost Mohammad along with Vice-Principal Prof Asadullah inaugurated the construction work on a morgue on the premises of the institution on Saturday.
Faculty members, heads of departments and students were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dost Mohammad said the mortuary would be used for embalming human dead bodies and conducting postmortems.
`The facility will be also used by forensic experts and for medical education and training of students, he maintained. He said that the morgue would be completed within a specified timeframe.
RAIN TURNS WEATHER PLEASANT: Rain coupled with hailstorm lashed several rural localities of Lakki Marwat district on Saturday afternoon, turning the hot weather pleasant.
Villagers in Zangikhel, Mela Mandrakhel and adjacent hamlets said that clouds appeared in the sky in the afternoon and all of a sudden rain started in cats and dogs. They said hailstorm turned the sandy areas into a white blanket. They said that the downpour brought a sigh of relief for the heatstricken population.
The southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Lakki Marwat, have been experiencing heatwave for last several weeks.
However, the rain will help reduce the soaring temperatures.-Correspondent
