AKISTAN and Portugal share a longstanding and deep-rooted connection in trade, diplomacy and arts. Both countries have a shared cultural history influenced by Islamic culture in art and architecture as well as linguistic similarities.Through collaborative initiatives and partnerships, the Embassy of Portugal and Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan (AKCS-P) have worked together to pronnote culturalexchange and artistic expression, heritage conservation, foster people-to-people connections, and build cross-cultural understanding.

Thanks to Ambassador Frederico Silva`s proactive efforts, we have successfully organised several joint events that have helped forge enriching creative synergies.

These include a conference on intercultural communication that facilitated a productive exchange of ideas between Lahore`s creative community and a leading Portuguese journalist and author, and a participative masterclass led by a renowned jazz musician from Portugal, which engaged a young group of music enthusiasts. •
