DERA GH AZI KH AN: The district police claim to have smashed a gang of terrorists besides arrest of a member of Alfarooq group of Taliban who was involved in attack on a policeman outside a worship place on July 11.

District Police Officer Ghulam Mubashar Maikin told a news conference in Taunsa Sharif on Wednesday that Hanif, a member of Taliban`s Alfarooq group who was involved in attack on a policeman performing duty at `Baitul Salat` of Ahmadia community, had been taken into custody.

The policeman, Irshad Hussain, suffered bullet wounds but volunteers present there remained safe. The attacker escaped after resistance by the security officials especially volunteers, he said.

While searching for the assailant, the DPO said, police succeeded in smashing another terrorist group called `Ustad Aslam Punjab`.

Polim arrested impodant members of the group and recovered hand grenades, guns and hate literature besides suicide jackets, he added.
