LAHORE: The health department has removed medical superintendent of the Lahore General Hospital, Dr Saeed Sohban, from his post and directed him to report to the department immediately.
A notification is likely to be issued on Thursday (today),an official of the health department confirmed to Dawn.
He said the step was taken on the `complaint` of Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood who had recently assumed charge. Prof Mahmood conveyed to the health department he was not comfortable with Dr Sohban, requesting for his replacement with any other competent of ficial.
Earlier, former principal of the institute, Prof Dr Anjum Habib Vohra, had also submitted a request to the health authorities for the transfer of Dr Sohban.
