BADIN: Thirteen people of a family fell unconscious, including five children and four women, in a village near Badin city on Wednesday after drinking poisonous lassi.

At least thirteen people were admitted to the Badin Civil Hospital on Wednesday night after they reportedly drank lassi in Taj Mohammed Chandio village.

Those admitted included Mohammad Jaman Chandio, Qadir Bux, Rehman Ali, Ms Mitha, Zafar Ali, Ms Sajida and Ms Khalida.

According to doctors, they fell unconscious after eating/ drinking some toxic substance during their Iftar dinner.

The doctors told Dawn that all of them were under treatment and if needed, some people might be shifted to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital.
