Sanitary workers to remain on standby during Eid days

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday claimed to have completed arrangements for cleanliness and security of different Eid Gahas, parks and other recreational spots during Eid days.
The civic agency`s Health Services Directorate will carry out anti-mosquito spray and fogging at busy recreational spots, business centres and bus stands during Eid holidays.
The CDA chairman, Maroof Afzal, was given briefing by the of ficers concerned about security and cleanliness arrangements taken by the civic managers for Eid.
Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed, MemberEngineering Shahid Sohail and other senior of ficers told the Chairman that in order to keep the city neat and tidy, staf f of sanitation directorate will not avail Eid holidays.
Special teams of sanitary workers have been constituted which will keep the city clean during the holidays.
According to the CDA spokesman, the chairman was also given briefing about the expected rush of visitors at Marghazar Zoo.
`Every year a large number of people from the twin cities visit the Margahazar Zoo during the Eid holidays, therefore, extra deployment of the security staff has been made to provide secure environment to the visitors,` said Ramzan Sajid, thespokesman for the CDA.
The meeting decided to remove the encroachments which create hindrance for the visitors to different markets.
It is relevant to note here that throughout Ramazan, the CDA could not remove encroachment from various markets, which badly disturbed the movement of visitors.
These markets include Aabpara Market, Melody Market, G-9 Markaz (Karachi Company) Sitara Market, Super and Jinnah Super Market.
However, now, CDA has constituted special teams which will remove encroachments during the last days of Ramazan and Eid days.
