KALAYA: All is set for return of internally displaced persons to their native towns in Orakzai Agency as second phase of their return is scheduled to start from July 20.
This was stated by political agent Mohammad Zubair in a briefing to media persons at the agency headquarters here on Friday. He said arrangements had been finalised for repatriation of IDPs to their native towns in Lower and Upper Kurram tribal region. He said the second phase of their return would be started on July 20 and would continue till July 31.
Mr Zubair said registration of 5,000 more IDPs had been finalised for repatriation which included 4,470 individuals of Alikhel tribe, 722 of Mashti tribe, 150 of Bazot tribe, 197 of Kado Mashti, and 45 of Utmankhel tribe, respectively.
He said so far repatriation of 18,000 IPD families out of total 38,616 families had been completed. He said verification of those affected families from Orakzai Agency registered with FDMA would be made from July 20 to July 31 at Jarma registration point in Kohat.
The political agent said a survey was underway for repatriation and rehabilitation of the returning displaced families.-Correspondent
