Seven die as trailer ploughs into mini-truck on M-9 motorway

DADU: Seven people died and eight suffered serious injuries when a trailer ploughed into the back of a fruit laden mini-truck at Thana Bula Khan interchange on M-9 motorway in Jamshoro district on Monday.
Police said two of the deceased victims were brothers.
The ill-fated mini-truck was hired by a fruit trader of Tando Allahyar, who along with over a dozen labourers, was on his way to Karachi fruit and vegetable market when it met the accident.
Locals and police shifted the bodies and the injured to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH), Jamshoro, from where the injured were later referred to LUH, Hyderabad.
The victims were identified as 45-year-old fruit trader Imdad Hussain Khoso, 28-yearold Naiji Kachhi, 30-year-old Amer and his 25-year-old brother Ramoo, 32-year-old Ramesh and 25-year-old Chetan Kachhi and Karim Hasan.
They were all said to be residents of Sultanabad in Tando Allahyar. The condition of the injured was stated to be serious.
Loonikot SHO Sikandar Rodhnani blamed negligence on part of the trailer driver for the accident. The trailer driver fled after the accident and police had impounded the trailer, he said.
Man dies, five hurt in accident In another accident on M-9 at Nooriabad, 30-year-old Mazhar Jat died and Abu Bakar, Sajid, Shaharyar, Allahyar and Ramzan suffered injuries when their car collided with a mini-truck while driving in reverse gear on the highway.
Police and rescue services said that the victims were residents of Karo Kaho area in Kotri town.
They said they were going to Karachi when they met the accident. The body and the injured were shifted to LUH, Jamshoro. The body was later shifted to Kotri after post mortem.
Police have impounded the min-truck and the car.
