Sikh community`s plea to Qaim

LAHORE: Pakistan Sikh Gurdawara Parbandhak Committee has expressed concern over growing incidents of the desecration of Sikhs` Holy Book Gurugarenth in Sindh and demanded of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice.

`For the last six years, the incidents of our holy book`s desecration had been rising.

But it looks that the Sindh government has failed to stop such untoward events, PSGPC Chairman Sardar Sham Singh said in a meeting held here at the headquarters of the Evacuee Trust Property Board on Tuesday.

The participants of the meeting unanimouslydecided to hold a national conference of all provinces` representatives, political leaders, senior ofñcials in ordertotakenecessary steps under a comprehensive strategy. The participants reviewed a proposal seeking legal and constitutional help from the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

L ater, the E TPB Chairman Siddiqu1 Farooq told media that those spreading hate and disrupting the efforts for peace and religious and inter-faith harmony were the enemies of Pakistan. `We severally condemn such incidents. But we (Muslims and Sikhs) cannot be separated from each other,` he added.
