Rohingya issue

THE persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and similar incidents of human rights violations elsewhere deserve strong condemnation.

However, the issue should be taken up on humanitarian ground rather than the religious one.

The international community, as a whole, should come forward for caring of this minority community. The UN is the most appropriate forum for redressing this issue.

As far as Pakistan is concerned, it can only express its solidarity with the oppressed Muslim community.

Pakistan has its own serious issues both external and internal. The country is faced with an international conspiracyagainstits very existence.Itis ñghting a war of survival. Thus, the country cannot afford to get involved in others` problems by coming to the fore.

Most Arab countries are rich and resourceful. Why don`t they accept the rehabilitation of Rohingyas on their soil on a permanent basis.
