L A H O R E : CommissionerMuhammad Amir Jan has directed the officers to facilitate cricket fans and simplify the ticket checking process outside the stadium for the three T20I matches to be held in Lahore between Pakistan and England from Sept 28 to Oct 2.

Mr Jan issued the direction in a meeting with Sports Board DirectorGeneral Muhammad Tariq on Thursday. He also instructed the security agencies to check lights on the routes and around the stadium.

`More than 8,000 police personnel will ensure the security of both teams, routes and stadium,` the commissioner said.

He added that additional security cameras would be installed to make the live monitoring system more effective.

`There will be no compromise on security. Special routes should be made operational from several parts of the city to accommodate the maximum number of cricket spectators.

Due to strict securityarrangements, fans as well as the residents living around the Gaddañ Stadium suffer a lot.

Shuttle buses are provided from the parking to the main gate of the Nishter Sports Complex, which is located far away from the main stadium`s building.

Moreover, no bus shuttle service is being provided from the parking area of the Government Gulberg College to the stadium, which is also far away from the Gaddafi Stadium.

Moreover, the people residing around the Nishtar Sports Complex always complain about facing problems to reach homes. It is a routine practice of the Sui Northern Gas Supply Company to suspend the gas supply to the locality during the tour of any foreign team.

Mr Tariq said 148 security cameras of the Sports Board Punjab are active in Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

`The best facilities will be provided tocricketfans in Nishtar Park Sports Complex and the Sports Board will fully cooperate with all departments for the smooth organization of T20 matches.
